Samovar 7.00: the main page has been rebuilt. The readings are grouped into the cards "Actions" («Действия»), "Sensors" («Датчики»), "Impurity detector" («Детектор примесей»), "Current line" («Текущая строка»), "Regulator" («Регулятор»), "Pressure" («Давление») and "System" («Система»), with a diagram of the installation showing current temperatures in the center. The take-off rate and the "Fix hearts take-off T" («Зафиксировать Т отбора тела») button have been moved from the "Additional" («Дополнительно») tab to the "Regulator" card. A message history (the ☰ button) and a dark theme (the ☾ button) have been added. If the banner "Configuration loaded with an error" («Конфигурация загружена с ошибкой») is shown, do not turn on heating: first check the sensor assignments and the settings named in the message.
After power-up, Samovar opens with heating off. It shows the sensor readings, but the process has not been started yet. The main page of the "Rectification" («Ректификация») mode is described below; in other modes the set of cards and buttons differs, see Samovar Operating Modes.
Header and readings
Main page of the "Rectification" («Ректификация») mode
Operating mode
The first tab is named after the current mode. The mode is changed in Settings → Basic.
Version
The version of the installed firmware.
Connection and time
The connection indicator for Samovar (green — data is arriving, red — connection lost), the current time and the uptime since power-on.
Message history
Opens the messages saved in this browser, with the "Clear history" («Очистить историю») and "Close" («Закрыть») buttons.
Theme
Switches the page between the light and dark theme.
Status line
The current state of Samovar: the type and number of the line being executed, the remaining time, the fixed hearts temperatures, pause, warm-up, stabilization. Next to it are the line number and the progress bar.
Take-off
The collected volume, the actual take-off rate and the progress of the current line.
Command buttons
"Turn heating on/off" («Включить/Выключить нагрев»), "Pause/Resume" («Поставить на паузу/Продолжить»), "Start take-off/Next" («Начать отбор/Далее»), "Reset process" («Сбросить процесс»), and links to "Chart" («График») and "Settings" («Настройки»).
Temperatures
Readings of the vapor, column, boiler, water and TCA sensors. Colors are set in Settings → Temperature.
Impurity detector
The state of the impurity breakthrough detector and the vapor temperature trend. The card is visible if the detector is enabled in the settings.
Installation diagram
The boiler, column, dephlegmator, TCA, take-off unit and jars with the current temperatures, pressure and heating. The jar of the current line is highlighted.
Right column
The cards "Current line" («Текущая строка»), "Regulator" («Регулятор»), "Pressure" («Давление») and "System" («Система») — see the next screenshot.
Detailed explanation
The stage, the completion condition, the wait and how to continue, the next line. The block is present only on firmware that sends the new stage data.
What is displayed
Version and mode — the firmware version is shown in the header next to the "Samovar" («Самовар») label. The first header tab is named after the current mode (for rectification, "Rectification" («Ректификация»)). The mode is selected in Settings → Basic: Rectification («Ректификация»), Distillation («Дистилляция»), Beer («Пиво»), Wash column («Бражная колонна»), Continuous wash column («Непрерывная бражная колонна»), Cheesemaking («Сыроварение»).
Connection and time — a green indicator means the page is receiving data from Samovar. If several requests in a row go unanswered, the indicator turns red and the message "Connection lost!" («Обрыв связи!») appears. Next to it are the current time and "Uptime" («Работа») — the time since Samovar was switched on.
Status line — the current state: "Off" («Выключено»), "Column warm-up" («Разгон колонны»), "Warm-up complete. Stabilization/Self-reflux" («Разгон завершен. Стабилизация/Работа на себя»), "Stabilization complete/Self-reflux" («Стабилизация завершена/Работа на себя»), the type and number of the program line being executed (for example, "Hearts; Prg #2" («Тело; Прг №2»)), "Pause" («Пауза»), "Program completed" («Выполнение программы завершено»). During take-off, "Remaining:" («Осталось:») is added to the status — the estimated time to the end of the line and of the whole program — and, after the hearts temperatures are fixed, "Hearts T vapor" («Т тела пар») and "Hearts T column" («Т тела царга»). Next to it are shown the line number ("line 2 of 4" («строка 2 из 4»)), the line progress bar and the take-off totals: "Collected" («Отобрано»), "Rate" («Скорость»), "Progress" («Прогресс»).
Detailed explanation — on firmware with the new data, under the status are shown the stage, the current line, its completion condition and target, the reason for waiting and how to continue, and the next line. If it says "Detailed explanation unavailable" («Подробное объяснение недоступно»), the firmware did not send the new data; the usual readings and status remain available.
Key values — a card for narrow screens only (smartphone): "Δ vapor − column" («Δ пар − царга»), "Vapor to setpoint" («Пар к уставке») (the deviation of the vapor temperature from the fixed hearts take-off temperature), "Boiler" («Куб») and a short impurity detector state. On a wide screen these values are visible in the "Sensors" and "Impurity detector" cards.
Sensors — the temperatures "Vapor" («Пар»), "Column" («Царга»), "Δ vapor − column" («Δ пар − царга»), "Boiler" («Куб»), "Water" («Вода»), "TCA" («ТСА»). The color of each sensor is set in Settings → Temperature. For vapor and column the setpoint is shown after the hearts temperatures are fixed. A zero or an obviously wrong value must be fixed in Settings → Temperature before starting.
Impurity detector — the card is visible if the detector is enabled in the settings. It shows the state ("Stable, monitoring" («Стабильно, слежу»), "Temperature rising: reducing the rate" («Рост температуры: снижаю скорость»), "BREAKTHROUGH (PAUSE)" («ПРОСКОК (ПАУЗА)»), on heads and tails — "observation" («наблюдение»), after a line start or resume — "Pause after line start" («Пауза после старта строки»), "Waiting for vapor to stabilize" («Жду стабилизации пара»), "Collecting history" («Набираю историю»)) and the vapor temperature trend in °C/min. On heads and tails lines the detector only collects observations: it does not reduce the rate and does not pause the take-off. More in Hearts take-off.
Installation diagram — the boiler, column, dephlegmator, TCA, take-off unit and jars. The diagram is labeled with the current temperatures, the pressure in the boiler or at start, and the heating voltage and power. During operation the cooling water flow, heating, take-off pump and product drops are animated; the jar receiving the take-off for the current program line is highlighted. On pause, the label "PAUSE" («ПАУЗА») appears on the boiler. If "Use an I2C pump above the pasteurization section" («Использовать I2C-насос над ЦП») is enabled on the Pump tab and the pump board was found at startup, a pasteurization section («ЦП») is drawn above the column, and to the left of it a second pump with a separate heads take-off line; it is animated while it pumps.
Right column: current line, regulator, pressure, system
The line type, container, progress, volume, rate, transition temperature, voltage and line time, the next line.
Regulator
The current and target voltage (power), the regulator mode and the power in watts.
Regulator voltage
Manual setting of voltage (power): enter a value and press "Set voltage" («Установить напряжение»).
Rate, l/h
Manual change of the take-off rate of the current line. Enter a value and press "Set" («Установить»).
Fix hearts take-off T
The current vapor and column temperatures become the hearts take-off temperatures.
Pressure
Atmospheric pressure and the pressure at start ("At start" («В начале»)) or in the boiler ("In column" («В колонне»)) if a pressure sensor is connected.
System
Free memory, the temperature of the pressure sensor, the Wi-Fi level, free space in the file system, the PWM of the water pump and the state of the I2C pump.
Current line — the line type (Heads, Hearts, Pre-flooding, Pause, Tails, Lua), the container number, the progress bar, the line volume, rate, transition temperature, line voltage (power), the estimated line time and a short description of the next line. The program itself is edited on the "Program" («Программа») tab, see Take-off Program for Rectification Mode.
Actions — under the buttons, explanations of active commands may appear: the equipment, what is set, what is actually applied, and where the command came from — the program, manual input, automation or a protection.
Regulator — the current and target voltage (or power, if the regulator works by power), the regulator mode and the power in watts. In the "Regulator voltage" («Напряжение регулятора») field you can set the voltage manually and press "Set voltage" («Установить напряжение»), see Manual Setting of the Regulator Voltage. In the "Rate, l/h" («Скорость, л/ч») field you can change the take-off rate of the current line with the "Set" («Установить») button, see Manual Setting of the Take-off Rate. The "Fix hearts take-off T" («Зафиксировать Т отбора тела») button records the current vapor and column temperatures as the hearts take-off temperatures. If the regulator is not used in the firmware, the card is hidden.
Pressure — atmospheric pressure from the BME/BMP sensor and a second value: "At start" («В начале») — the pressure at the moment of start, or "In column" («В колонне») if a pressure sensor in the boiler is connected.
System — Heap (free memory of the controller), BME temp (temperature of the pressure sensor), RSSI (Wi-Fi signal level), "Free" («Свободно») (free space in the file system) and, when the devices are connected, the PWM of the water pump and the state of the external I2C pump.
Messages and history
System messages
System messages
New notifications with the time they appeared. The cross closes a single message; emergency ones only after confirmation.
Hide all
Removes all messages from the screen. They stay in the history (the ☰ button).
New notifications appear in the top right corner of the page. Each message is closed with a cross; emergency messages are closed only after confirmation. The "Hide all" («Скрыть все») button removes all messages from the screen. The ☰ button in the header opens the history: messages saved in this browser, including those from before the page was refreshed (the last 500 are kept). The "Clear history" («Очистить историю») button deletes them from the browser, "Close" («Закрыть») collapses the history. The list of Samovar messages is on the page System Messages.
Main buttons
Turn heating on / Turn heating off («Включить нагрев / Выключить нагрев») — starts or stops heating for the selected mode. Confirmation is required when turning off. If the vapor, water and boiler sensors are not assigned in the settings, heating does not turn on and the message "Sensors not assigned" («Датчики не назначены») appears on the screen.
Start take-off / Next («Начать отбор / Далее») — starts the rectification program. While heating is off, the command is not executed. If the column is still warming up or stabilizing, the page asks you to confirm the start. During take-off the button is called "Next" and, after confirmation, moves Samovar to the next program line.
Pause / Resume («Поставить на паузу / Продолжить») — stops and resumes take-off, see Pause.
Reset process («Сбросить процесс») — after confirmation, ends the current process with the mode's standard command and turns heating off.
Chart («График») — opens the current local chart, see Local Logs and Charts. Settings («Настройки») — opens the Samovar parameters.
Tabs
The "Program" («Программа») tab
Calculate program
Goes to the take-off program calculator.
Program table
The program lines: type, output, rate, container, voltage and estimated time. Completed lines are locked, the current one is highlighted.
Total
The estimated execution time of the whole program.
Set program
Sends the edited program to Samovar. Without this, the edits have no effect.
Clear program
After confirmation, deletes the take-off program from Samovar.
Besides the mode tab, the header has these tabs:
Program («Программа») — a table of take-off program lines with the estimated time of each line and the total, the program text field and the cloud description, and the buttons "Calculate program" («Рассчитать программу»), "Set program" («Установить программу») and "Clear program" («Очистить программу»). Changes take effect only after you press "Set program", see Editing the Take-off Program. If you leave the page with unsaved edits, Samovar asks for confirmation.
Additional («Дополнительно») — the stepper motor speed and steps, the water flow from the flow sensor and a line for Lua, see The Additional Tab.
Calculation («Расчёт») — the take-off program calculator based on the volume and strength of the raw material.
I2CStepper and External pump («Внешний насос») — appear only when external pump support is enabled, see I2CStepper.
Chart («График») and Settings («Настройки») — the same as the buttons of the same name in the "Actions" card.
The correct order for the first start: first Settings and the equipment self-test, then checking the program, and only after that turning on heating.
