System Messages

 

During operation, Samovar's warnings are shown in the WEB interface.

Messages appear in a panel in the top right corner on any page of the interface. Each message can be hidden with the cross; the "Hide all" («Скрыть все») button hides the whole panel. Before hiding an emergency message, Samovar asks for confirmation. The ☰ button in the header opens the message history; the history is stored in the browser, and the "Clear history" («Очистить историю») button deletes it.

 

The same messages go to the mobile apps and the site (push notifications and the "Messages" tab) and to the cloud, where they can be viewed on the log's "Messages" page.

Samovar 7.00: a pause or wait may be recorded as two service messages: a start and an end. In the charts of the local interface and the site, and on the "Control" («Управление») page, the pair is decoded into a reason, an outcome and a duration. In the ordinary message list the service header @P1 may be visible. If only one part arrived, it is an incomplete event without a duration. If the connection drops or Samovar reboots, part of the history may be missing.

Depending on severity, messages have different background colors: emergency, warning, notification. In the mobile apps, emergency messages arrive with the prefix "Alarm!", and warnings with "Warning!".

 

Some warnings do not require immediate action:

For example: "Open the water supply!" («Откройте подачу воды!»)

It appears as a warning when the boiler temperature set in the sketch is reached, regardless of whether the cooling tap is open or closed.

If the warning repeats, check whether the tap is really open and whether the flow is sufficient. If a pump is used to hold the temperature, check whether the pump is connected. Check the connections of the water flow sensor.

 

Some warnings, on the contrary, require the operator's immediate intervention.

For example: "Critical water temperature!" («Критическая температура воды!»)

It means that the coolant at the outlet is approaching the limit value set in the sketch (70° by default; the message appears 5° before it). If the operator does not react, Samovar reduces the heating power, and if the temperature keeps rising to 75°, it turns heating off.

 

 

On an emergency heating lockout and when the connection is lost, an alarm sounds in the browser. If the browser has blocked playback, the hint "The browser has blocked the alarm sound. Click the page to allow sound." («Браузер заблокировал звук тревоги. Нажмите на страницу, чтобы разрешить звук.») appears.

 

Below is the list of Samovar messages:

 

- Each time the reflux level sensor triggers and the event is actually counted. Samovar counts only those trigger periods that last 3 or more seconds (WHLS_ALARM_TIME).

 

- After the flooding sensor triggers, the voltage is reduced from the current one.

- When the column section or steam setpoint is exceeded with the "Use supplied power correction" («Использовать корректировку подаваемой мощности») option enabled.

 

- The water temperature has come within 5° of the value in the line #define ALARM_WATER_TEMP 70. The buzzer turns on and take-off is paused for 30 seconds.

 

- If there was no reaction to the previous message, the voltage is reduced by 5 volts to prevent the column from overheating. In the Distillation and Wash Column modes the text is "Critical water temperature! Reducing … from XXX" («Критическая температура воды! Понижаем … с ХХХ»).

 

- The water temperature has exceeded the value in the line #define MAX_WATER_TEMP 75, steam - MAX_STEAM_TEMP 98.8, TCA - MAX_ACP_TEMP 75. Heating is off, the water valve is closed.

 

- If a flow sensor is used but no data comes from it.

 

- Distillation. The "Turn on heating" («Включить нагрев») command was given.

 

- Wash column. PWM control of the cooling pump is not enabled in the firmware.

 

- Wash column. The "Turn on heating" command was given.

 

- Wash column. Heating is turned off when the set maximum boiler temperature is reached.

- The "Turn off heating" («Выключить нагрев») command was given.

 

- Beer mode. All lines of the beer brewing program have been executed. Heating is off.

 

- Beer mode. The start of the "Cooling" («Охлаждение») line.

- Beer mode. The "Fermentation" («Брожение») line. When the mash temperature exceeds the boiler setpoint by the setpoint amount.

 

- Beer mode. The end of the "Cooling" line.

- Beer mode. The "Fermentation" line. The mash temperature has returned to the set limits.

 

- Beer mode. The malt dough-in temperature has been reached. Waiting.

 

- Beer mode. The time count for the "Pause" («Пауза») line has started.

 

- Beer mode. The "Pause" line. The temperature has dropped 3° or more below the set one, and the time count is stopped. Heating works. With a smaller undershoot there is no message, and the count runs slower.

 

- Cheesemaking mode. The "Hold" («Выдержка») stage. An undershoot of 3° or more or an overshoot above the tolerance; the hold time is not counted.

 

- Beer and Cheesemaking modes. The temperature has recovered and the hold time count continues.

 

- Beer mode. 30 seconds before the end of the "Boil" («Кипячение») program line.

 

- A transition to the next program line. In Beer mode it is supplemented with "Heating to the malt dough-in temperature: XX°" («Нагрев до температуры засыпи солода: ХХ°»).

 

- Distillation, Wash column. Condition: the boiler temperature is above 90 degrees and heating is on. If, over the time set in the settings by the "Time for monitoring the end of the distillation process" («Время для контроля завершения процесса дистилляции») field (60 minutes by default, 0 - do not check), the boiler temperature changes by no more than 0.1 degree.

 

- Heating is turned off when the set maximum boiler temperature is reached.

- Heating is turned off.

- No alcohol is left in the boiler.

 

- The column section (or steam) sensor temperature has gone beyond the setpoint.

 

- The whole program held in Samovar's memory has been executed.

- Heating is turned off.

 

- Rectification. Heating is turned off when the set maximum boiler temperature is reached.

 

- The steam sensor temperature value in the line #define CHANGE_POWER_MODE_STEAM_TEMP 39 has been reached.

 

- Condition: heating is on. The steam sensor has passed the boost cut-off mark. For six minutes the steam temperature changes by no more than 0.1 degree.

 

- Rectification. The boiler temperature given in the line #define OPEN_VALVE_TANK_TEMP 77 has been reached.

- Beer. The start of the "Cooling" line.

- Beer. The "Fermentation" line. When the mash temperature exceeds the boiler setpoint by the setpoint amount.

 

- Rectification, Distillation, Wash column. Heating is off and the water temperature has dropped below the water T setpoint by the amount set in the sketch.

 

- Condition: heating is on; the steam temperature has risen above 39°, or the boiler temperature has stopped rising while the cooling water has warmed up. In Distillation mode the calculated alcohol content in the boiler is added to the message.

 

- The regulator connection check is enabled and the regulator has not answered several requests in a row. If the connection is not restored - "Emergency shutdown! No connection with the heating regulator." («Аварийное отключение! Нет связи с регулятором нагрева.»)

 

- The actual power reported by the regulator differs from the set one by more than 20% several times in a row.

 

- There is no data from the temperature sensor.

 

- There is no space left in the file system for the log. Samovar deletes the old log data_old.csv itself when there is less than 16 KB of free space. Delete unneeded files through the editor.

 

- The emergency button was pressed or an emergency sensor triggered.

 

- After an emergency shutdown, heating will not turn on until Samovar is rebooted. While the lockout is active, an alarm sounds in the browser.

 

- Samovar rebooted during a process. Heating must be turned on manually; if less than 30 minutes have passed since the reboot, the log in the cloud continues the previous session.

 

- A browser message: Samovar did not answer three polls in a row. The page is dimmed and blocked until the connection is restored, and the clock line shows the time of the last data received.

 

- The settings were read with an error at startup, and Samovar works on default values. The reason is shown on the main page in the strip under the readings.
