Samovar 7.00: the impurity detector is switched on with a single "Use detector" («Использовать детектор») switch and works only in rectification. During heads it only observes; on a critical temperature rise it pauses the take-off. Smooth speed reduction is a separate "Reduce take-off rate when temperature rises" («Снижать скорость отбора при росте температуры») switch.
On this tab you choose the operating mode and the general limits. After changing something, press Save («Сохранить») at the bottom of the page. The mode changes without rebooting the ESP32, but only when the heating is off: while a process is running Samovar does not accept the form and shows an error at the "Operating mode" («Режим работы») field.

Mode and process completion
Operating mode («Режим работы») — Rectification («Ректификация»), Distillation («Дистилляция»), Beer («Пиво»), Wash column («Бражная колонна»), Continuous wash column («Непрерывная бражная колонна») or Cheesemaking («Сыроварение»). The Sous-vide («Су-вид») and Lua items are hidden in the list and cannot be selected through it. If a mode is not built into your firmware, Samovar reports it when you save.
Rectification, distillation and BK up to boiler temperature («Ректификация, дистилляция и БК до температуры в кубе») — the normal completion temperature. In distillation and BK the process ends at it; in rectification, after all program lines are done, Samovar keeps taking off until the boiler reaches this temperature. If pressure correction is off, at altitude the boiling temperature is lower and a limit that is too high may never be reached.
Time for distillation completion check («Время для контроля завершения процесса дистилляции») — for how many minutes the boiler temperature (above 90°C) must stay almost unchanged (rise of less than 0.1°C) before completion. Applies in distillation and BK. Zero turns this criterion off, the maximum is 255.
Use pressure correction («Использовать корректировку давления») — a correction of the vapor, column section, boiler and TCA sensor readings for atmospheric pressure (0.037°C per mmHg of deviation from 760). The water sensor is not corrected.
Use reflux level sensor during rectification («Использовать датчик уровня флегмы при ректификации») — includes it in the rectification algorithm if the sensor is provided by the build. In the standard build the reflux level sensor is disabled at compile time, and this switch has no effect.
Equipment (column) parameters
Diameter («Диаметр»),
Packing height («Высота насадки») and
Packing density («Плотность насадки») describe your column. They are used by the
program calculation calculator (the "Calculation" («Расчёт») tab), and they are written to the process log.
Impurity breakthrough detector (rectification)
Use detector («Использовать детектор») — the main switch of the impurity detector. The detector watches the vapor temperature trend in the Pre-flooding («Предзахлёб»), Hearts («Тело») and Tails («Хвосты») lines of the rectification program; on a dangerous rise it pauses the take-off and resumes it by itself when the temperature returns. The detector state is shown in the "Impurity detector" («Детектор примесей») block on the
main page.
Reduce take-off rate when temperature rises («Снижать скорость отбора при росте температуры») — works only together with the detector. On a temperature rise warning the take-off rate is reduced in steps until the trend levels off. The pause on a critical rise happens regardless of this switch.
Rate reduction step («Шаг снижения скорости») — the percentage of a single rate change. 0 - the default 5%, the maximum is 20%.
Pressure at which the alarm triggers («Давление, при котором включится авария») — the limit of the excess pressure in the boiler, mmHg, for a connected pressure sensor. When this pressure is reached, Samovar goes into emergency mode and switches the heating off. 0 - the control is off. A wrong value can cause a false alarm or no expected stop. If the MPX5010DP sensor is enabled in the firmware, two calibration fields for it appear below: "MPX zero point" («Нулевая точка MPX») and "MPX counts per 1 mmHg" («Отсчётов MPX на 1 мм рт. ст.»).
Buzzer and self-test
The buzzer parameters separately enable the sound on the device, the sound in the browser and the signal on a program line change. When the first parameter is off, the buzzer is disabled completely.
The Self-test («Самотестирование») button checks the actuators: the water supply is switched on (the pump starts or the valve opens), the peristaltic take-off pump starts, and the servo steps through the 5 container positions in turn. You must confirm the action before the start. The test lasts about 15 seconds and ends with the message "Self-test finished." («Самотестирование закончено.»). The self-test does not start while the heating is on or a process is running. Before pressing the button, disconnect any dangerous load and direct the hoses into a safe container.
At the bottom of the page there are three buttons: Save writes all settings tabs and returns to the main page; Home («На главную») leaves without saving; Editor («Редактор») opens the firmware file manager. If the form has unsaved changes, Samovar asks for confirmation before you leave. If a field has an error, saving is not done: the tab with that field opens and the message "Settings not saved. Check the fields: …" («Настройки не сохранены. Проверьте поля: …») is shown.
