Saving settings

Samovar 7.00: the "Download settings file" («Скачать файл настроек») and "Upload settings file" («Загрузить файл настроек») buttons are in Settings («Настройки») → Other («Прочие»). The file contains all fields of all settings tabs, so the table below is an example of the old set of fields and does not include the new parameters. After the file is loaded, the values are only filled into the form: to apply them, press "Save" («Сохранить»).

Samovar can save all settings to a text file and later restore them. This is convenient if you use several sets of temperature sensors, so you do not have to enter their addresses every time. After you press "Download settings file", the browser creates the file samovarbackup.txt, which is saved to your browser's downloads folder.
The saved file can be renamed (raw material, mode and so on) and loaded as needed.
To restore, press "Upload settings file" and select the file. Samovar checks that it is a settings file in JSON format, fills the values into the form fields and shows the message "Settings loaded into the form, press Save to apply" («Настройки загружены в форму, нажмите «Сохранить», чтобы применить»). If the file contains values outside the allowed range, the message lists the faulty fields; fix them before saving. The loaded values take effect only after you press "Save".
This file also contains information that you can copy and paste into Samovar without loading all the previous settings. For example, the Blynk token or the video camera URL.

Settings → Other: saving and loading the settings file («Настройки → Прочие: сохранение и загрузка файла настроек»)
1

Download settings file («Скачать файл настроек»)

Creates the samovarbackup.txt file with all fields of the settings form and saves it to the browser's downloads folder.

2

Upload settings file («Загрузить файл настроек»)

Opens a file picker. The values from the file are filled into the form; to apply them, press "Save" («Сохранить»). The StepperStepMl field is not loaded from the file.

Warning.
In some cases, when a new sensor is added, the sensors may change the mounting place assigned to them earlier. This is related to the sensor identifier and to the logic Samovar uses to arrange the sensors.

The samovarbackup.txt file looks like this:

{"mode":"0","DistTemp":"98.000","usepressure":true,"useautospeed":true,"autospeed":"2","useautopowerdown":false,"UseBuzzer":true,"UseBBuzzer":true,
"ChangeProgramBuzzer":false,"SteamAddr":"0","DeltaSteamTemp":"-2.000","SetSteamTemp":"0.300","SteamDelay":"20","PipeAddr":"2",
"DeltaPipeTemp":"0.000","SetPipeTemp":"2.000","PipeDelay":"20","WaterAddr":"3","DeltaWaterTemp":"0.000","SetWaterTemp":"0.000","WaterDelay":"20",
"TankAddr":"4","DeltaTankTemp":"0.000","SetTankTemp":"0.000","TankDelay":"20","ACPAddr":"1","DeltaACPTemp":"0.000","SetACPTemp":"0.000",
"ACPDelay":"20","StepperStepMl":"8954","Kp":"150.000","Ki":"1.400","Kd":"1.400","StbVoltage":"100.00","blynkauth":"9u0XzN*******R1e7xHYp",
"videourl":"","TimeZone":"3","CheckPower":false,"HeaterR":"35.000","LogPeriod":"3","SteamColor":"#2c03fc","PipeColor":"#f90126","WaterColor":"#08c7f7","TankColor":"#338a05","ACPColor":"#000000","rele1":"1","rele2":"0","rele3":"0","rele4":"0"}

The parameters are separated by commas, and each parameter and its value are enclosed in quotes and joined by a colon.
For example: ,"DistTemp":"98.000",

Keep in mind when loading a saved settings file into Samovar: all values from the file, except StepperStepMl, replace the current ones. If you changed settings between saving and loading (for example, calibrated an external I2C pump, the StepperStepMlI2C field), the old values will be filled into the form after loading. To avoid this, delete such parameters together with their values from the file.

Warning.
Starting with version 5.20, the "Number of motor steps needed to take off 1 ml." («Количество шагов двигателя необходимых для отбора 1 мл.») value (StepperStepMl) is present in the
samovarbackup.txt file, but it is not loaded into Samovar when settings are restored. The value that exists at the time of restoring settings is not overwritten. You can restore it manually.

The table lists the parameter names with explanations. The values are taken, as an example, from the samovarbackup.txt file shown above.

Note.
If there is no saved profile, Samovar 7.00 creates the standard settings itself. The Samovar_default_settings.txt file from the tools folder of the firmware sources can be loaded as an ordinary settings file, but after the first flashing this is not required.
