The extended configuration builds on the recommended one and adds hardware for specific modes and scenarios.
You can connect an LCD display with an encoder, a servo for fraction distribution, one or two I2CStepper modules for the stirrer and the pump, an emergency button, additional sensors, an external meter and NBK (continuous wash column) hardware. Connect only the parts that are enabled in the selected build environment and configured in Samovar_ini.h or user_config_override.h (the easiest way is through the configurator, which is started from flash_windows.bat or flash_macos_linux.sh).
Cheesemaking hardware
Samovar 7.00: the Cheesemaking mode uses the standard board outputs; no separate connectors are needed:
The pH sensor is a PH-4502C analog module. Its output is connected to the analog input LUA_PIN: GPIO34 on the ESP32 DevKit, GPIO4 on the ESP32-S3. The MPX5010DP pressure sensor and the Lua analogRead() function use the same input, so they cannot work together with the pH sensor. The readings are converted to pH using the calibration, see pH calibration.
The stirrer is relay No. 2 (the same as the stirrer in Beer mode) or the stirrer of the I2CStepper module at address 1; the choice is set in the program line.
The drain valve is relay No. 4. In other modes this output controls the boost heating element, so connect either a valve or a heating element to it.
Cooling is a water pump or valve, as in the other modes; without USE_WATER_PUMP or USE_WATER_VALVE the cooling stage will not pass validation in the cheesemaking program.
